New Year’s Resolutions – What Are Yours?
It’s that time of year again… time to throw out all those bad habits and commit to making some positive changes. To most of us the New Year represents a fresh start – the opportunity to let those past mistakes fade away and to get ourselves back on track. Traditionally we highlight the importance of keeping commitments to ourselves by listing our resolutions for the year ahead. It’s a good opportunity to reflect on the changes we want (or need) to make and resolve to follow through on those changes.

Regular exercise is one of the best ways to improve your health and some studies even suggest it reduces the risk of certain diseases, increases longevity, and lowers blood pressure. Lose excess weight – setting realistic targets and staying focused are the most important factors in maintaining a weight loss program.

Give up smoking – with new laws banning smoking in public places from July 2007, there’s never been a better time to give up the habit. Nicotine replacement gums and inhalers are readily available and, coupled with willpower, can help you on your way to a smoke-free life.

Learn a new skill – education is one of the most rewarding New Year challenges you can set yourself. Whether it’s work-related, learning a new language, a musical instrument – by challenging your mind in the coming year, your horizons will expand.

Be better organized – this will also help you achieve any other resolutions you might set yourself. Whether you want your home better organized so you can invite people round on a whim, or your office organized enough that you can find the stapler when you need it, getting organised will increase your efficiency and reduce stress.
