Nicole Cooke wins Gold
Did you see the smile on Nicole Cooke’s face as she received her Gold medal for the 126.4 km road race... Why 126.4 km? A question for another day...

She was grinning from ear to ear with happiness, with relief, with jubilation at being the best of the best in her chosen specialism. Brilliant for her and the Welsh amongst us, watch as all the 1/16th welsh people come out of the woodwork!

She also takes the 200th Gold medal for a Brit... Nicole will be able to hold that thought for the rest of her years, always knowing on this day she achieved her life goal. Well done Nicole Cooke. Now she needs another one... will it be cycling or will she take up singing... all Welsh people can sing!

What a great place to get your medal, on the Great Wall of China. Not sure China is the healthiest place to hang out, seems to be a ton of smog all over the place. I guess that’s the price we pay for cheap computers, sofas, TVs, toys and basically most everything we buy today. Hey, at least we don’t have to breathe in all that smog! Maybe we should be paying twice the price, helping reduce the smog in China and encouraging environmentally aware production here in the UK. Anyway, back to Nicole Cooke...

Well done Nicole Cooke on achieving your dream and hears to all the other athletes who are trying to be the best they can be. I hope many more achieve their Gold medals whether that be in actual Gold or in mentally becoming better, stronger, wiser and improving themselves in anticipation of battles to come.

Hey, and in the spirit of positive energy, I hope you, if you are reading this are inspired by Nicole Cooke and the way she received her Gold medal and move forward towards bigger and better things.
