'Spanish Rings' introduce Vertical Gardening at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show 2009 - July 6th-12th
This week the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show, probably the biggest and most popular flower show in western Europe, starts in the grounds of Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey Surrey. The show begins with a Charity Gala Night and Press Preview on Monday 6th July. The Tuesday and Wednesday are special RHS member's days. The show is open to the public from 10am until 7.30 pm, Thursday 9th July until Sunday 12th July. Full day tickets are £27, however if you're thinking of taking a half-day from work, ticket prices drop to £17 for entry from 3pm until 7.30pm which means there is an extra influx of eager show-goers for the afternoon and early evening. Ideally take public transport by rail to Hampton Court Station as the roads will be busy. For more details log on to the Royal Horticultural Website - www.rhs.org.uk One way to reach the show is by river. Step off the train and onto one of the Thames Cruisers for the short trip to the Thames Entrance. You'll find Spanish Rings stand number A21, just in front of the Rose Marquee as you enter from the Thames Entrance. Spanish Rings are spanish style flower pot holders which create a fantastic vertical garden, with wonderful flowers making the most of the space above ground level in the garden. On the continent you see flowers cascading from walls and balconies, now you can create the same stunning Mediterranean effect. Spanish Rings are designed to hold standard flower pots from 12.5cm/5" in diameter up to 20cm/8". Steve Bridger, the creator of Spanish Rings first introduced the idea in 1999, winning the 'New Product of the Year Award' at the Four Oaks Show with the original wall ring design. Over the years, Spanish Rings have been designed for pipes and posts fitting either round or square rainpipes or soil pipes. These have been particularly popular as a way to use beautiful flowers to cover the eyesore. More recently Trellis Rings have become a firm favourite as they simply hook over trellis struts - so no drilling or fixing. Steve Bridger has been delighted that Spanish Rings have been featured on 'BBC Ground Force' and Garden Invaders' and also on QVC The Home Shopping Channel. Steve will be continuing the special RHS Hampton Court Flower Show offer of any 3 Spanish Rings, any size, colour or type in any combination for just £10.
