While enjoying a late tea to the dulcet tone of our very own Terry Wogan on Children in Need it reminded me of early mornings while driving around the nation selling the wears of the various companies I used to work for. Terry says, “Give whatever you want, however small, it will all make a difference.” Cut to vt... My 11 year old Charlie pipes up, “How about a sweet wrapper, what could you get for that Terry?” “I don’t know, but perhaps Terry can find out?” And so it falls to me to ask the question of the big man ... how about someone pops out and buys a bag of Werthers Original, I recall them being mentioned by Terry as a favourite sweet on numerous occasions on Radio 2 ... unless it was my grandpa ;) Then Terry can unwrap a Werthers, enjoy its smoothing honey qualities while placing the wrapper into a plastic bag so it remains untouched by other mere mortals ... and then auction said wrapper to the world and we’ll see just how much you can get for a sweet wrapper.
